GLASS BOTTLES & JARS
Friendly reminder GLASS is NOT accepted as a recyclable by the recycling provider and therefore residents are requested to put glass in with their regular garbage. Staff is working on transitioning into a new Blue Box Program that will include glass, however, the transition will not take place until 2025. If anything changes before 2025 a notice will be provided in a newsletter and at the Waste Disposal Site.

COMMINGLED PLASTIC & METAL FOOD AND BEVERAGE CONTAINERS
Please recycle the following:
Tin food and beverage cans, aluminum food and beverage cans, aluminum trays and foil (please clean!)
Plastics #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6 food and beverage containers (and products like juice containers).
The above metals and plastics all go in the same deposit bin.
** Please rinse cans and containers **
** For metal cans, push lid inside and squeeze top a bit to hold it there **
** Remove caps and lids from all plastic bottles **

CARDBOARD & BOXBOARD ONLY!!
Please flatten all boxes to fit in the deposit slots. Please, NO plastic or wax board !!

NEWSPRINT
We welcome newspapers, flyers, magazines, catalogues, telephone books, paper back books, hard cover books, writing paper, and envelopes.

THE DON’TS !!!!
Many items are labeled with the familiar recycling symbol, however, this does not mean that it is recycleable in OUR program!!

If you turn your plastic containers upside down, you will usually find the plastic identified by a number inside the recycling symbol and /or the letters PETE or HDPE underneath it.

Some exceptions to the #2 plastic that we CANNOT accept are: Motor oil bottles, pesticide and herbicide containers, wide mouth containers like margarine, yogurt and ice cream tubs, and 20 litre pails.

REMEMBER….DO NOT DEPOSIT THESE!!
Tissues or paper towels
Drinking glasses
Window pane glass, ceramics or china
Light bulbs
Coat hangers (plastic or metal)

Recyling Change Notification


The plastic buyer will NOT accept any FILM PLASTIC (No grocery bags, water bottle case plastic, etc.) And NO STYROFOAM of any description (NO meat trays or any packing material of any kind).

Aseptic containers, waxy cardboard such as drink boxes and milk cartons ( minus the straws), now go in with the paper.
