Municipal Election 2026 Update
The Township of Laird advises that the Unofficial List of Candidates for the 2026 Municipal Election has been updated as of today, Monday, June 8, 2026.
The list reflects nominations received to date and will continue to be revised as additional nominations are filed with the Clerk during the nomination period.

2026 Municipal Election Information
The 2026 Municipal Election will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026. Eligible electors will vote to fill the following offices:
- Head of Council (1)
- Councillors (4)
- School Board Trustees (as applicable)
Key Dates
- Nomination Period Opens: May 1, 2026
- Nomination Deadline: August 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
- Advance Voting Day: October 17, 2026 (12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
- Voting Day: October 26, 2026 (10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.)
- Official Declaration of Results: October 27, 2026
Voting Method and Location
Voting will be conducted in person by paper ballot at the following location:
Laird Hall
3 Pumpkin Point Road West
Electors are required to present acceptable identification showing their name and qualifying address.
Voter Eligibility
A person is entitled to vote in the municipal election if they:
- Reside in the Township of Laird, or are the owner or tenant of land in the Township, or the spouse of such owner or tenant
- Are a Canadian citizen
- Are at least 18 years of age
- Are not otherwise prohibited from voting under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996
