THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAIRD

WHEREAS Section 93 of the Drainage Act, RSO 1990, authorizes the council of a local municipality to appoint a drainage superintendent and provide for his/her remuneration for the purposes and in the manner set out therein;

NOW THEREFORE, pursuant to the Drainage Act, RSO 1990, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Laird enacts as follows:

1. 1) THAT K. Smart Associates Limited (hereinafter “the Company”) is hereby appointed Drainage Superintendent for the Corporation of the Township of Laird (hereinafter referred to as “the Municipality”);
2. 2) AND THAT the Drainage Superintendent appointed hereunder shall receive such remuneration as shall be mutually agreed upon by the Company and the Municipality and shall hold office until such time as the Company withdraws its services or its services are terminated by resolution of Council;
3. 3) AND THAT the Drainage Superintendent shall carry out the duties as imposed by the Drainage Act, RSO 1990 and shall submit such reports and carry out such other duties as may be required from time to time by the Municipality;
4. 4) AND THAT any previous By-law appointing a Drainage Superintendent is hereby rescinded;
5. 5) AND THAT this By-law comes into force on the passing thereof.
