Fire Ban Information
FIRE BAN IN EFFECT-LAIRD TOWNSHIP
Effective Immediately
Due to current dry conditions and an increased risk of wildfire, Laird Township’s contracted fire service provider the Echo Bay Fire Department (Township of Macdonald, Meredith & Aberdeen Additional) has implemented a Fire Ban that applies within Laird Township effective immediately.
All open-air burning is prohibited, including:
- Burn barrels
- Brush or yard waste fires
- Campfires or recreational fires
- Any other open-air fires
Landfill Notice
Burnable materials will not be accepted at the Laird Township Landfill for the duration of the Fire Ban.
Duration
The Fire Ban will remain in effect until conditions improve and the Echo Bay Fire Department advises that it is safe to lift the restriction.
