Conformance Status

The Laird Township website currently meets the baseline standards required in Ontario under the AODA (WCAG 2.0 Level AA). However, we view digital accessibility as a continuous journey rather than a one-time goal.

Because technology and community needs are always evolving, our work is ongoing. We are actively engaged in upgrading our site architecture, design, and content to achieve the more rigorous WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards, ensuring the best possible experience for all of our residents.

Legacy Applications and Data: We occasionally rely on legacy applications, older municipal databases, or historical digital records that cannot be updated to current accessibility standards without requiring unreasonable effort or expense. We are actively assessing these systems for future replacement or upgrading.
