MINUTES FINNS’ BAY WHARF COMMITTEE MEETING July 3, 2024 AT 6:00 PM LOCATION: LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE

Present: Todd Rydall (Chair), Jo-Anne Entwistle (Recording Secretary), Brad Shewfelt, Lee Ranta, Karolina Dick, John Hooper.

1. CALL TO ORDER/REVIEW THE AGENDA

(ON MOTION # 10-24) Moved by Brad Shewfelt, seconded by John Hooper “That the meeting be called to order by Todd Rydall, chairperson, and that the committee approves the Finns’ Bay Wharf Meeting Sub-committee Agenda of July 3, 2024” CARRIED

2. MINUTES OF January 24, 2024

(ON MOTION #11-24) Moved by Lee Ranta, seconded by John Hooper “That the committee approves the Finns’ Bay Wharf Sub-Committee minutes of May 1, 2024, as presented” CARRIED

4. BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES

1. 1) Wharf Meet and Great-Sunday, August 11, 2024 from 1:00-4:00 PM (ON MOTION #12-24) Moved by John Hooper, seconded by Karolina Dick “That the Street Block Party on Sunday, August 11, 2024 be referred to as a Meet and Greet. Sub-committee responsibilities include:

Todd Rydall-6 dozen hot dogs and buns, condiments, napkins, BBQ, table, 2 sets of tongs, calibrated food thermometer, cooler for bottled water. Jo-Anne Entwistle-handwash station which includes hand soap, paper towels, container of potable water with tap, bucket for gray water, Algoma Health Unit Permit, container for votes for the name of the Wharf property. Karolina Dick-3-4 bags of ice, 2 chafing dishes and fuel, table cloths, First Aid Kit. John Hooper-water jugs for hand wash station Brad Shewfelt-table and utility trailer Lee Ranta-name tags, 3 signs, sign in sheet, paper for votes for the name of the property, pens and pencils.” CARRIED

) Prevention of vehicles driving on the Wharf The following are in place-one gate, signage and rocks as barricades

1. 3) Parking Lot Improvements-quote received was too high. Gilbertson’s Enterprises will deliver gravel in the next week. Either Township Staff or Todd Rydall will spread and level.
2. 4) Beaver damage and removal of broken bicycle-no information available regarding beaver damage remediation -broken bicycle has been removed and taken to the garbage dump

5. NEW BUSINESS

1. 1) (ON MOTION #13-24) Moved by John Hooper, seconded by Lee Ranta “That a reclaimed red channel marker be placed at the Wharf property as a landmark.

Approval from Laird Township Council is requested prior to installation. Location at the Wharf property to be determined once Laird Township Council approval has been received.”

1. 1. At the fall meeting revisit the Wharf property Five Year Plan and the possibility of putting power into the Wharf property
