Lapish Bridge – Class Environmental Assessment Notice

The Corporation of the Township of Laird Class Environmental Assessment Lapish Bridge Project Public Comment Invited

The Township of the Laird proposes replacement or rehabilitation of Lapish Bridge on Lapish Road in Bar River, ON. The project is currently being planned under Schedule B of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment.

Project documentation for the Lapish Bridge project including the alternatives under consideration, the Municipal Structure Inspection Report, the Cultural Heritage Evaluation Report and the Existing Conditions and Environmental Impact Assessment are available for review at the following locations:

The preliminary preferred alternative is the replacement of the existing bridge with a new concrete structure with similar features to the existing bridge. Public input and comments are invited for incorporation into the planning and design of this project and will be received until December 1, 2017. Subject to comments received and the receipt of necessary approvals, the Municipality intends to proceed with the planning, design and construction of this project to be completed in 2018.
