Regarding Notice Mailed, October 6, 2014 Candidates Night

Laird Council, out of respect to all those people running for elected office, would like to correct errors and omissions in the above noted Notice.

Council does not know who was responsible for the flyer, and would like to advise that it did not come from the municipality. The Municipal Elections Act, 1996 does not require candidate debates to be held, and the current council believes it inappropriate to sponsor a meeting that could be seen as using taxpayers’ money to promote incumbents.

The following information is available at the municipal office during regular working hours.
