    Acting Chair Shawn Evoy called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

  5. Adoption of Minutes of Previous Meeting
    1. Recreation Meeting – May 26, 2026

      BE IT RESOLVED THAT Recreation approves Recreation Committee minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 26, 2026, as presented.

  6. Committee Reports
    1. Bar River Hall – The hall committee’s Country Night with Northern Honky Tonk Guided Line Dancing on Saturday June 6th at 7pm was a success with about 45 people in attendance.
    2. Finns Bay Wharf – Jo-Anne Entwistle reported that the new sign is up and that they are having a meeting tomorrow.
    3. Laird Fairgrounds – Free Access Night has started. The sink is installed in the Gazebo Kitchen. Electrical repairs underway cause of bakers blowing during event.
    4. Laird Hall – Foundation meeting with Stobie’s, Mayor and CBO, coming up.
      A quote came in for refinishing the floor and the curling lines are under discussion. Glen Irwin the project manager is asked to keep the committee informed.
    5. G. W. Evoy Rink – The grass has been cut on the septic bed.
    6. Heritage – The Drawings are being done. The heritage summer student will be sending our a Heritage Newsletter this summer.

    1. Recreation accounts for May 2026

      BE IT RESOLVED that the Recreation Committee approves the accounts for May 2026 in the amount of $9290.14, as presented.

  2. Unfinished Business
    1. It was reported that Jo-Anne Entwistle has be awarded with this years Seniors Award.
      Congratulations!
    2. The secretary reported that an interview has been done to fill the summer positions available through the grant.

      BE IT RESOLVED that the Recreation Committee approves of hiring Landon Phillips for a summer position as Recreation Summer Program Assistant.

    3. The committee discussed the Appreciation BBQ held at the Laird Hall on Sunday June 7th, 2026. It was reported that it has a good turnout and Bill Rosenberg and Terry Sheehan both attended the event.
    New Business
    1. The committee discussed the plans for Pumpkinfest. They would like the time for Pumpkinfest put on council agenda.
