LAIRD RECREATION COMMITTEE

March 2, 2026, at 7:00 pm

Laird Township Council Chambers

Present: Shawn Evoy, Rhonda Crozier, Noah Crozier, Suzanne Evoy, JoAnne Entwistle and Joanne North

1. Call to Order

Acting Chair Shawn Evoy called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

5. Adoption of Minutes of Previous Meeting

a. Recreation Meeting – January 27, 2026

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Recreation approves Recreation Committee minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 27, 2026, as presented. Carried

6. Committee Reports

a. Bar River Hall – The hall is holding a Pasta Supper later in March.

b. G. W. Evoy Rink – Family Carnival was a success. Approximately 37 kids attended. Bum slide was the best!

c. Heritage – Waiting on plans from Clifford Orr and hoping to get the building framed this year.

d. Laird Hall – Office staff is wanting to have the hall drain run under the driveway to prevent slipping.

7. Adoption of Accounts

a. Recreation accounts for January 2026

BE IT RESOLVED that the Recreation Committee approves the accounts for January 2026 in the amount of $5053.88, as presented. Carried

8. Unfinished Business

a) The secretary reported that we are still waiting for a reply for the Capital Grant application to NOHFC for Laird Hall Improvements and council has approved to complete a grant application to NOHFC for the Laird Fairgrounds Kitchen and the Heritage Building.

9. New Business

a) The secretary reported that council approved additional summer program hours and she reported on the Kids Summer Camps available and the Baseball and Soccer Programs available.
