Recreation Committee Minutes – March 2025

MINUTES LAIRD RECREATION COMMITTEE March 25, 2025, at 7:00 pm Laird Township Council Chambers

Present: Shawn Evoy, Matt Frolick, Rhonda Crozier, Suzanne Evoy, Justine Lamming

1. Call to Order

Chair Matt Frolick called the meeting to order at 6:56 p.m.

#15-25 Moved by: Shawn Evoy Seconded by: Justine Lamming BE IT RESOLVED THAT Recreation hereby approves the March 25, 2025 agenda as presented. Carried.

5. Adoption of Minutes of Previous Meeting

  1. a. Recreation Meeting – February 25, 2025
  2. b. Bar River Hall – February 13, 2025 #16-25 Moved by: Shawn Evoy Seconded by: Suzanne Evoy BE IT RESOLVED THAT Recreation approves Recreation Committee minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 25 2025 and the Bar River Hall Committee minutes of February 13, 2025.

Carried.

  1. c. Heritage Committee Minutes – March 3, 2025 #17-25 Moved by: Suzanne Evoy Seconded by: Justine Lamming BE IT RESOLVED THAT Recreation approves Heritage Committee minutes of March 3, 2025; and further that Recreation approves and endorses the Budget and Five-Year Plan included with the Minutes of the Heritage Committee.

Carried.

6. Committee Reports

  1. a. Bar River Hall – The Recreation Committee reviewed the Rental Agreement for the Bar River Hall and discussed the plans for holding the Pub Night. It was also reported that the Pasta Supper is sold out and ribbon cutting is being planed.

The hall construction is almost complete, only a few deficiencies are left.

7. Adoption of Accounts

  1. a. Recreation accounts to February 28, 2025 #19-25 Moved by: Suzanne Evoy Seconded by: Justine Lamming BE IT RESOLVED THAT Recreation approves the accounts to February, 2025, in the amount of $34,311.64.

Carried.

8. Unfinished Business New Business

  1. a. The secretary reported that a few resumes have been handed in so far and that is hoped to get much more. It was reported that the Heritage summer employee from last year might be available for this year.

9. New Business

  1. a. The committee discussed the Appreciation BBQ to be held Sunday, June 8, 2025. The hall is booked and the food needs to be ordered.
