Recreation Committee Minutes – October 25, 2022
MINUTES OF THE LAIRD RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING HELD AT THE LAIRD TOWNSHIP OFFICE ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2022
MEMBERS PRESENT: Donna Bos Matt Frolick Jo-Anne Entwistle Rhonda Crozier Brenda Aelick Shawn Evoy

The meeting was called to order by Matt Frolick, Chairperson.
ON MOTION (No. R33-22) Moved by Donna Bos, seconded by Shawn Evoy “That the minutes of September 27, 2022 be adopted, as circulated.” CARRIED
Committee Reports:
- 1. Bar River Hall
- furnace was repaired and a light was fixed
- a Fall meeting will take place for plans for the hall reno.
- 2. Finns Bay Rd. Wharf
- the committee discussed future plans for the property
- 3. Laird Fairgrounds
- the vehicle storage is complete
- revenue is up this year because of fee increase
- 5. Laird Hall
- the staff would like a keyed door handle on the back door for easy access
ON MOTION (No. R34-22) Moved by Shawn Evoy, seconded by Brenda Aelick “That the recreation committee approve of the accounts for September 2022 in the amount of $930.43.” CARRIED
Business Arising out of the Minutes:
The committee discussed plans for the Winter Carnival. The Bar River Hall committee and the
- G. W. Rink committee will get together with Laird Recreation committee soon to further discuss plans.
The committee presented the Senior of the Year Award to Jo-Anne Entwistle. Congratulations!
The committee discussed seasonal activities and is in favor of sponsoring a Christmas Colouring Contest, Santa’s Mailbox, Christmas Lighting Contest and donations to Outreach for Christmas Hampers.
The next meeting will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 7:00p.m.
