Christmas Cheer Food Basket Donations

The Laird Recreation Committee is partnering with the Echo Bay United Church Outreach Committee to collect items for this year’s Christmas Cheer food baskets, supporting families in our community who are experiencing difficult times.

Your generosity—whether through food donations, financial contributions, or volunteering your time— truly makes a difference in the lives of local families. Donations can be dropped off at the Laird Township Office before December 15, 2025.

Thank you for your kindness and community spirit.

Winter Road Safety Notice

The Road Department and Council remind residents not to push snow onto or across township roads. Ridges and piles of frozen snow create hazardous conditions for road maintenance equipment, operators, and all who travel our roads. Under Section 181 of The Highway Traffic Act, no person may deposit snow or ice on a roadway without written permission from the Ministry or the road authority responsible for maintaining that road.

Please help us keep our roads safe by ensuring that snow from your driveway stays off municipal roadways.

A reminder as well: parking on the roadway during snow season is prohibited. Vehicles found obstructing snow-removal operations may be towed.

Thank you for your cooperation.

The Community Emergency Management Committee reminds residents not to alter ditches or municipal road allowances, as doing so can increase the risk of flooding. Any request to modify a ditch or road allowance must be submitted in writing to the Road Superintendent for review and approval.

If you experience an emergency or believe a specific area requires attention, please contact the Municipal Office so it can be assessed promptly.

Wishing everyone a Safe and Happy Holiday!
